The UK Film Council and its industry partners believe that a film sector that values diversity will:
- be aware of the diversity agenda and individual responsibilities for change and delivery
- bring in and develop talented individuals at all stages of their careers
- retain a diverse workforce
- ensure full and equal access to film for disabled people, particularly in cinema audiences
- champion the diversity of its role models and leading industry figures
- ensure that film education and training directly addresses diversity and inclusion, and that those delivering and receiving training and education reflect diverse groups.
The UK Film Council's consultation 'Success through diversity and inclusion' sets out its proposals to enable the industry to achieve these goals.
