UK Film Council funding

The UK Film Council aims to be fair and equitable and to support a wide range of partners through its funding programmes.

It invests in the development and production of British films and promotes greater access to specialised films. It works to embed equality and diversity commitments into its finance agreements with the individuals and companies it invests in, to help move the industry towards its diversity goals, and to encourage practices that will improve access and diversity. The funds have specific diversity criteria which applicants need to meet in order to be eligible for funding.

The UK Film Council monitors information from applications to help track trends in the industry and the impact of its policies. It also reports to the Department of Culture, Media and Sport against a set of diversity indicators.
