The Skillset Graduate Fellowship Programme was for graduates from ethnic minority backgrounds who were interested in getting into the film industry. Film companies acted as hosts for fellows and provided paid work placements of up to one year.

Prior to the programme, Suhan was finding it hard to break into the industry due to lack of contacts and experience. The Graduate Fellowship Programme helped by placing him at film PR agency, Premier PR.

Colleagues at Premier PR saw Suhan's potential straight away and he was soon a fully integrated member of the team setting up screenings, arranging press interviews, handling celebrities and helping to organise film premieres.

Proving that diversity in the workplace makes good business sense, Suhan's contacts within the Asian community brought increased press coverage for the film The Namesake, by Asian director Mira Nair.

Just three months into the placement Suhan was offered a permanent job at Premier PR. He is now working full time as their Regional Press Assistant.

Suhan says that his dreams of working in film promotion have come true with the help of Skillset's Graduate Fellowship Programme.
